Lands of America recently had more than $10 billion in land for sale in the Rocky Mountain State, which comprises about 977,000 acres of Colorado land for sale. Of Colorado's 64 counties,
Fremont County had the most land and farms for sale. There were 12,239 acres of sold land in Colorado recorded last month through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a four percent rise in sales activity over the month before, with a combined land value of $20 million for all property and land sold in the state. The most land sales in the state last month were located in Costilla County. Colorado is home to some 23 million acres of public land, where lovers of the outdoor life can enjoy everything from hiking and backpacking to mountain biking and skiing. The state boasts 6,000 miles of streams and more than 2,000 lakes and reservoirs where anglers can cast for 35 species of both warm- and cold-water fish. Big-game hunting species in the state include deer, moose, pronghorn antelope, and black bear. WalletHub, a personal finance website, has ranked the state among the ten best states for retirees based on factors including affordability, quality of life and health care. Colorado is one of the country's ten largest states in terms of size, covering an area of 104,100 square miles (67 million acres). Of this area, 103,642 square miles of the state is land, while the remaining 452 square miles is made up of water. Wildlife species to be found on land for sale in Colorado include mule deer, elk, bear, turkey, and grouse. Fishermen have their pick of trout, bass, pike, catfish, and salmon.
