The Trophy Mountain Ranch is located on the northern end of Jackson County near the Colorado / Wyoming border approximately 15 miles northwest of Cowdrey. Set at the base of the Independent Mountains in Routt National Forest, the 490 acre +/- ranch is comprised of mountainous terrain, winding crystal clear streams, natural parks and thick timber consisting of pine, aspen, spruce and fir. The property is operated as a world class hunting and fishing preserve. This is one of the finest recreational ownership opportunities in northern Colorado.
Currently there is a privately owned elk herd under a double eight foot high fence on the ranch. The Trophy Mountain herd contains some of the largest trophy bull elk in North America. There are three developed ponds on the ranch, two of which are stocked with Brook and Rainbow Trout. Five miles east of the ranch is Blue Ribbon Trout fishing on the North Platte River as well! The ranch’s location is also worth noting. It is 22 miles from Walden (the county seat), 90 miles from Steamboat Springs and 120 miles from Fort Collins. The Mount Zirkel Wilderness is 15 miles to the west and the North Platte Wilderness is 4 miles to the east. The ranch also features end of the road privacy and county road access.
